Seven Mile Bridge
Besides connecting the Middle Keys to the Lower Keys, the Seven Mile Bridge is also home to premier fishing grounds in its waters below. The best spot? There is an area west of Sombrero Light in 105 feet of water where you can find amberjack, king mackerel, yellowtail, and mutton snapper. Key Biscayne
Found on a barrier island across the Rickenbacker Causeway in Miami, the waters of Key Biscayne are chock full of treasured species such as African pompano and spinner sharks. The waters around the southern end of the island get to 200 feet in depth and contain many artificial reefs. When skinny fishing, anglers can use surface lines to reel in some dolphin, kingfish, sailfish, and wahoo!
Haulover Inlet
Looking for a local secret? Look no further than Haulover Inlet! The coastline that is about 150-300 yards off the Haulover Inlet beaches to Government Cut is one of Miami’s very best fishing grounds. Anglers can expect to find an abundance of bluefish, snapper, and Spanish mackerel year-round. In the winter, tons of tarpon migrate through these waters so be sure to visit with your favorite fishing rod come December.
